FAQs

I need my steel ASAP, how long will it take?

If it is just a simple case of cutting and painting a single beam for collection, then this will usually be available within a couple of hours, obviously for larger orders the lead time will be longer, but we can let you know a lead time when quoting for the project.

Why can’t I get a price on-line?

We aim to make our quotes as accurate as possible, because, unlike our competitors, once we have quoted for your project you can rest-assured that this price won’t be increasing for additional fabrications, plates, bolts etc… that aren’t on the original drawings, therefore we need to ensure that we have all the necessary information to hand.

Can I pay by credit card?

Yes, we have the facility to take payment by all major credit cards.

I’m doing a development in London, do you deliver there?

Yes! Our express delivery service may be within 100 miles, but we are more than happy to deliver nationally if required, we have to date done many successful projects in London and further afield than Dorset.

Where is your steel produced?

We use a range of different suppliers, however Arcelor Mittal state;

We have operations in more than 60 countries and steelmaking facilities in more than 20 countries. Around 38% of our steel is produced in the Americas, 46% in Europe and 16% in other regions, including Kazakhstan, South Africa and Ukraine.

I’ve been let down by my supplier before, how do I know that won’t happen with you?

We have been trading out of the same factory, under the same company name, under the same directors for almost 30 years and have survived 2 recessions, whilst many competitors have fallen by the wayside we have always ensured that our company will be safe for generations to come. At the end of the day it has got our surname above the door and that is something we are proud of.

Can you do the engineers calculations for me?

We don’t do them in house, but we have a long term relationship with a local structural engineer who is on hand to do any calculations when required.
